10 Money Revelations in my 30s
http://awealthofcommonsense.com/2016/08/10-money-revelations-in-my-30s/ Ben Carlson writes one of the best money blogs out there and I particularly love today's post. Except the bit about beer - I don't drink beer. Though I do absolutely agree that it rarely makes sense to pay up for (really) good wine.
His point about making more money is so important. When looking at finances people always talk about cutting out the daily coffee or bringing your lunch into work instead of buying it. Sure, these things help A LITTLE. But earning more money is so much more powerful. And there is always a way to do it - we always have a choice.
The best results come when we combine the two - earn more money whilst not buying more stuff. Lifestyle creep is so pervasive here - get a promotion then buy a bigger house, drive a nicer car, eat at fancier restaurants. It is such a slippery slope.
Feel worried that you have succumbed to lifestyle creep? Drop me a line, let's grab a coffee and chat it through. It's certainly not irreversible, and often needs someone neutral and impartial to help get things mentally in order.
