What I have been reading - 18th March 2022
Here’s what caught my eye over the past week or two:
Victims: A great piece from Josh Brown. "If you've already won, stay winning. Invest and prosper. Do less. Live more. Find an advisor not an astrologer. Stay out of the traps being laid for you. Don't be a victim".
Does my son know you? Fatherhood, cancer, and what matters most. Someone I know needs to read this.
7 Books That Make You A Better Human: Don't we all want to be better humans?
The Biggest Mistakes People Make In Their Wills, According To Estate Lawyers: This is an excellent article, but the most important bit is probably in the first paragraph. The biggest mistake is, of course, not having a Will in the first place.
Big Financial Questions? Step away from the spreadsheet: I become more sure with time that real-life financial decisions are not meant to be made in a spreadsheet.
Now You Get It: Morgan Housel on why we need to experience some things to ever have a chance of 'getting it'.
A Better Way to Say No: I have been thinking a lot about 'No' recently and wrote an editorial on the subject for RealLife magazine (read it here). I like this article which explains how you can give a positive no instead of a negative one. And here's another good article on the subject from Mark Manson.
FINALLY:
Want to be both happier and smarter? Science says first take a bit of sadness, anxiety, or stress: This seems to make sense to me.
ENJOY!
